Civic Type R
Exterior & Interior
Balance of Design and Power
The Civic Type R has been restyled to make an even more powerful statement, inside and out. Head-turning style, wildly functional aerodynamics and a racing-inspired cockpit all scream high performance.
Aggressive Front End
The iconic red H-badge, a symbol of our racing legacy, is exclusive to the Civic Type R. Together with the aggressive front bumper and LED headlights with auto-on/off, the front end connects our heritage and our future.
True to the original Civic Type R, the versatile hatchback body style gets a light, stiff chassis and wide fenders to fit 20-inch alloy wheels and Brembo 4-piston front brake calipers.
20-Inch Black Alloy Wheels
Twenty-inch gloss-black alloy wheels keep the high-performance rubber on the road with style and frame the large, red Brembo front brake calipers that help keep brake fade in check.
The distinctive wing spoiler creates the perfect balance of design and aerodynamics, while the taillights and a fierce exhaust note deliver a bold sign-off.
Each Civic Type R is truly one of a kind, featuring a unique serial number printed on a metal plaque below the aluminum shift knob.
Heavily bolstered front seats in red-and-black suede-effect fabric can help keep you in place during hard cornering.
Race-inspired sport pedals provide the necessary grip for your feet anytime a quick heel-and-toe is needed on the track.
6-Speed Manual Transmission
The new aluminum shift knob mated to a close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission offers the purest connection between car and driver.
Alcantara-Wrapped Steering Wheel
The new, Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel with a flat bottom gives you the feeling and grip you need to tackle the toughest turns on any track.
A Heart-Racing Heritage
The Civic Type R is the ultimate embodiment of the Honda racing legacy: lightweight, aerodynamic and an absolute blast on both the track and the road. It’s a testament to more than 70 years of engineering in pursuit of our dreams.
The turbocharged and intercooled 2.0-liter VTEC engine kicks out an exhilarating 306 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. Wrapped in an iconic red cover, it’s 70 years of Honda engineering for the track distilled into one Civic: the Type R.
A lightweight, reinforced chassis and all-aluminum hood increase rigidity and reduce weight to make the car swifter and nimbler while chasing down the competition.
The unique dual-axis MacPherson strut front suspension helps deliver precise response and minimize torque steer when accelerating through turns. An adaptive damper system actively controls the action for everything from smooth cruising to track handling.
A limited-slip differential can offer tighter cornering and better control on every drive, giving you more confidence—and more fun—behind the wheel.
Triple Outlet Exhaust
The specially tuned center-mounted, triple outlet exhaust bellows a throaty growl that broadcasts your departure.
The unmistakable red calipers of Brembo brakes stand ready when you’re charging hard into an apex. A new two-piece front-rotor design helps improve brake cooling.
The wing spoiler is positioned near roof height, creating downforce. The rear diffuser reduces drag for high speed and confidence-inspiring track performance.
Underbody Spoiler Kit
The functional underbody spoiler kit helps with downforce and airflow to the rear of the vehicle, providing incredible stability and grip at high speeds.
The front fender vents work in tandem with the functional hood scoop to enhance engine-compartment cooling.
Driver Information Interface
Customizable digital meters display boost pressure, G-force, lap times, rev limit, and throttle and brake input in real time, so you can maximize your track performance.
Need a high-octane playlist to help you beat your best lap time? With the 7-inch Display Audio touch-screen you can tap into your music.
In-Car Smartphone Integration App
Connect your Type R with your compatible smartphone for directions, appointments and even the weather.
The multi-angle rearview camera allows you to choose from three different angles—normal, top-down and wide—for a better view of what’s behind you every time you reverse.
ACE Body Structure
The Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure is a Honda-exclusive body design that enhances occupant protection and crash compatibility in frontal collisions.
